“Summer, what summer?” I hear some of you ask. While much of the British Isles basked in sunshine, albeit not the promised heat wave, those of us to the west considered building an ark of Biblical proportions. The rain never seemed to end. Somehow, it seems to have rained for years, not months or weeks, grinding with ceaseless fall against the very existence of my spirit. Sometimes, I forgot how the warmth of the sun felt against my skin, or the shock of an ice cold drink, quickly gulped in an effort to cool down in the midday heat. My garden, as noted before, suffered. Yet, somehow, in the midst of what seems to be interminable rain, there came a day or two of sunshine, for I took some lovely evening walks along the paths and byways near my home. So, gentle reader, I share with you now some images rare, like gold dust, sun-kissed evenings when the pale evening sky stretched to the misty horizon, and the grey Atlantic turned blue for a while, when flowers bloomed, and birds sang their hearts out for joy. What way leads the path,
so overgrown and little trod?
so overgrown and little trod?
Why, it leads where you allow it,and magic shall be yours for the asking.
grasses grow . . .
. . . and rabbits sound alarm!

The path winds on
into the west
. . . and coves
with hidden caves do beckon me
Be careful where you tread!
You'll squash it flat!
and beady eyes are watching!
Weigh anchor here, to spend the night
or into harbour sheltered sail . . .
. . . the moon is rising, 'tis time for weary walkers to wend their way for home!

What a wonderful walk you took us on, I only wish I could have been there in body as well as in spirit. Today was a good day here too, but I wasted the morning getting my hair cut and going shopping; sadly we have rain forecast for tomorrow again. But if you'll have me, I'll come with you on your next walk too. Tell me where you're going and I'll follow you on the map.
What lovely thoughts-like a poem.Photo's to
warm the eyes of ones heart.
Perfect ending to a sun filled day.
Thanks for sharing and just being the gifted you.
Hows this, Puffin and I here around the same ~ish time. Well, go put the kettle on and fill the thermos--we're on our way over. Looks like there will be a full moon for exploring those caves. Sssshhhhhh. . .
Wonderful photos again!!! I know it isn't from this post, but that Alchemilla Mollis is amazing. Really!
Gorgeous photos esp. rabbit, sheltered sail and moon one. Oh take me with you, and teach me how to take photos like you!
I'm so pleased you like them. I feel so privileged to live in the middle of such beautiful countryside, and 'beautiful' is all to inadequate a word to describe it. Puffin, I am no more gifted than the next person, we all have different gifts! Faith, I am all self taught. For every image I use, 30 or more get rejected!
Photos and words, worthy of a magnificent place.
Re. your comment on my blog. Yes the painting was inspired by Pembroke - I used to stare at the ocean from Abereiddy and watch the light of the water. if you would like to see the painting it is on permanent display at the Twr Y Felin Hotel in St Davids, along with a number of other more abstract abstract seascapes.
What a lovely narrative.. and what fabulous pictures!
