Tears of Love . . .

Once upon a long, long time ago, in a land not so very far away, once there lived and once there was a wondrous child of such purity and innocence that all who saw her wept with tears of pure and radiant love at her magical presence. . .

One day, playing amongst the warm, golden sand dunes near her home, she glimpsed a tiny treasure, half hidden in the sand; carefully, she pulled a tiny, silver chain and from the soft, golden sand a small and fascinating bottle appeared.  Drawn to its flawless quality, she slipped the precious chain and flask around her neck but somehow almost immediately forgot about it.

Time passed and the beautiful child grew up, still wearing the invisible trinket around her neck.  She passed with grace into womanhood, her beauty celebrated and still all who gazed upon her exquisite beauty wept tears of radiant love.

Decades passed and now she sat, a wizened old crone on the Council of Elders of her village.  The world that she now knew was not the world of her youthful purity, but one of corruption, horror, and war.  Famine, want, and poverty were all the people knew.  The people no longer wept at her fabled beauty but for the world that once they had and longed for it to be restored.

One day, sitting around the tribal fire, she felt something rub against her neck, and as she reached to see, her gnarled and shrivelled fingers grasped a long-forgotten chain.   She touched the bottle and suddenly remembered the day she found it.  How could she have forgotten?

Her fingers grasped a stopper that she was certain had not been there before.  Slowly and with great certainty, she opened the flask.  Instantly, the air was filled with immense, immeasurable, unconditional love; joy, peace and harmony restored across the land as if it had never been without, for all the tears shed with love at the beauty of the innocent and pure child had saved themselves inside the bottle and come to heal the world.
