Across the Fields to Ramsey Island . . .
One thread is not enough for a season with all the glories of autumn . . when words are inadequate to fully express a feeling . . for it is a feeling from deep within, a completeness of mind and matter; a solidarity of season, time, and place; and a comforting reassurance as we ready for the closing of the year . . my spirit is at ease with one and all. The vibrant, clashing colours and heightened textures of the land, the gentle light of a lowering sun and shortening days, heavenly smells pervading through the house, and jolly celebrations of Hallowe'en, Bonfire Night, Harvest and Thanksgiving, and some birthdays too!
Fields, full of texture, once of ripened corn now razed and baled, and furrowed deep as textured chocolate corduroy ploughed channels cut deep . .

the jewelled colours of the trees, a rich but oh so short lived cloak . .

. . . the colours of a living palette swirl . . . crisp, crunching under foot or decorating branch . . .

. . . while Blackberries, juicy warm and ripe do glint and glisten in the sun . . enticing us to pick for pies and wine and jams . . .

As so many folks seem unable to post their comments, I'm copying their kind words from my Facebook page
Karen Carter's Adventures (she and her husband travel a lot and always away from cities): "Oh, I forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed the piece last week! What beautiful photographs. Thank you for sending me to the link. I'm dreaming of a walk-about in her part of the world..."

Stunningly beautiful narration Deb, illustrated by exquisite photography! You certainly have a way with both words and camera, my friend. I love the layout of your blog, and thoroughly enjoyed vicariously walking along beside you on that gorgeous Autumn day. Something you should grace us with more often!
